Most of the footballers that Nigeria has produced have rarely been graduates either before or during their careers but it's not so for this proud indigene of Ikere Ekiti. He is an Engineering graduate from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH). It was while at LAUTECH that he was discovered during the NUGA Games.
Olofinjana signed for Stoke City in July 2008 when he made a £3million switch from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Wolves' failure to win promotion for the Championship activated a clause in the midfielder's signed four-year contract that allowed him to leave.
Olofinjana began his career at FC Crown Ogbomoso in his native Nigeria and later moved to Kwara United. During this time he made his debut for the Nigerian national team, making his debut on June 6, 2000 in a 3-2 friendly win over Malawi.Read more on this wonderful Super Eagles player in our Diaspora Edition (series 1) billed to be released in August.
